Mixx coatings will not crack, Mixx is designed as a thin film application and if applied correctly the product will not crack. If your substrate cracks the product will then move with the substrate and it will then crack, either fine hairline cracks or larger cracks may appear after time due to several factors causing your substrate to crack and Mixx will move with the substrate. Cement coatings are designed as exactly that a coating so whatever happens to your substrate your coating will follow. It is particularly important to have your substrate accessed by a professional to ensure it is sound and has the necessary expansion joints which will help in preventing cracking.

Mixx cement produces cement-based products, and we back our quality. Our products need to be applied for their attended use we cannot guarantee third parties’ workmanship, it is important to do your Due diligence as a perspective customer and ensure you choose an application team you can trust.

Yes, if the tiles are solid and there is no movement, with the correct preparation Mixx can be applied over tiles. It is important to note that due to the difference in porosity between the tile and the grouting the grout lines may appear as darker lines over time giving a lovely farm style look and feel to your finish. We also do not suggest applying Mixx over slate or clay or very uneven tiles.

Mixx cement has certain products designed for exterior use, ask our stockists for advice on what product will best suit your application. All external floors must be built with the necessary damp and waterproofing.
